So the question is what is EPIC Coaching? And we describe coaching here at EPIC Mission as facilitated discovery. It’s where you have a trusted guide who’s the coach who’s working with an individual or a group of individuals who are seeking enlightenment of some form. This is really about personal discovery and then the ownership of those items. Those things that have been discovered. And this is a process of connecting dots for oneself versus being told what to think and what to believe. Then, when the person is connecting the dots themselves, there’s a transfer of ownership, and growth actually has a chance to occur. These coaching clients are seeking help with goal setting accountability. They’re looking for a fresh perspective because we get our blinders on. Help with particular expertise and guidance, in general. This coaching can occur in one-on-one settings where it’s very personal or larger group or small group settings, and this can be either live or virtual. We do both. We work with for profits and nonprofits, and it could be a small organization or a very large organization. Doesn’t matter. We use discovery tools such as DISC Profile, Spiritual Gifts Inventory, and organizational self-assessments to help uncover uncover some things specific to blind spots we may have about ourselves and our organizations. Our process is structured yet flexible because we’re about serving the individual not serving a particular process. We operate on a myriad of topics, and we work through visioning and reflection to get both ends of the spectrum. We’re fans of S.M.A.R.T. goals that put hard edges on wish list items and then create an action plan to begin moving forward. In a nutshell, what we do is we meet people where they are, without judgment. We challenge them. We journey with them and help them grow so that they can be the change they wish to see in the world. So, what is EPIC Consulting? This is a highly collaborative engagement where success requires deep cooperation between EPIC Mission and you. We’re working with you to devise a solution for a named problem or need or a set of problems or needs. Everything starts with identifying the problem or need and then talking with you. Discussing your budget, your expectations, your timelines, so we can make sure that we understand everything that you’re wanting and needing from the beginning, so we can create a proposal to detail our methods, roles and responsibilities for each of us, timelines, deliverables, and our fee. There’s often times of back and forth as we discussed this, some refinement, so that we can make sure that starting with the proposal, we’re all on the same page. Then, once work begins, work on a consulting engagement can be a couple of days or it can be six months plus depending on what it is that you’re actually needing. But, everything begins with the Visioning Session to further ensure that we are on the same page as we move forward. There’s regular reporting back and forth on progress and sharing of information. Again, it’s highly collaborative. We’re working on things like business model development, business plan development ,strategic planning, feasibility studies, fund development, succession and continuity plan, and bunches of different topics. And, we really take a teaching approach, so that you understand what it is we’re doing, so you’re not beholden to the consultant forever. Life and plans never match. All in all, we’re offering holistic, practical guidance that’s cost effective and allows you to move forward towards your defined future because together we are the change. So what does training with EPIC Mission look like? Much like consulting, it starts with identifying a problem or a need that you have, and then discussing your budget, your expectations, and your timeline. From there, we’ll work to craft a proposal and design a solution that does indeed address your problem or need, meet your expectations, and works within your budget and your timeline. The solution could look like us delivering content that you have or we could create content and give it to you, so that you can deliver it. Or, we could both deliver design content and then deliver it for you. This could look like a one-time training or this could be ongoing over a long period. We can do this in one-on-one or group settings. This is good for for-profits or nonprofits – large groups or small groups. We deliver these trainings live or virtually and topics can include things like leadership, or communication, or board development, fund development, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, and a myriad of other topics. We offer Train-the-Trainer, so that someone within your organization is now empowered to be the trainer moving forward, and we also do meeting facilitation. All in all, what we’re looking to do is to empower you to be the change through intentional, personal, and professional development within your organization. So let’s talk about EPIC Support Services. This includes any additional help that you may need that may not really fit into the coaching, consulting, or training box. Sometimes, you need help, and you just don’t know what to call it. Help here includes things like grant research, grant writing, and fund development. Branding Marketing Assistance such as logo creation, brand development websites and the like. Creative Writing such as bios or creating web copy for you. Startup For-Profit or Nonprofit Assistance such as helping you with your bylaws or filing your form 1023 or 1023 EZ. Whatever help you need, it all starts with having a free consultation with us, so that we can talk through with you where you are, where you want to go, and what it’s going to take to get you from here to there. Because in the end, what we want to do is we want to roll up our sleeves, jump in, and join you on your journey to be the change you wish to see in the world. So I founded EPIC Mission in 2013 in Charlotte, North Carolina. And at this time I had worked for very large for-profit and nonprofit organizations and also worked in the startup world for profit, nonprofit, Christian, and secular. I’d seen a lot at this time. I’d met a lot of really wonderful people who are out there trying to make the world a better place. They were giving it all they had, and they just needed some help. They just couldn’t find that really practical, holistic, and affordable help that was so needed. And so EPIC Mission was formed to meet these people where they are. I refer to these people as the “Heroes of Change.” They’re the entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small businesses out there that are creating jobs and products for communities to solve needs. They’re filling gaps in society, and just generally working really hard to make the world a better place. EPIC Mission was formed to meet these Heroes of Change where they are, deliver a message of hope, not judgment, and journey with them to help them be the change they wish to see in the world. So let’s talk a little bit about the Heroes of Change Podcast from EPIC Mission. I’ve launched this podcast out of my own, I guess, selfish curiosity. Over time I’ve met some really amazing people that, as I’ve said before, I call these people the Heroes of Change. They’re the entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small businesses out there that are working to make the world a better place. I’ve met these people, and I’ve been inspired by their stories and have learned so much from them that, I guess, selfishly, I just wanted to have a conversation with them and go deeper and learn more about where they came from and what makes them tick. And, then, I wanted to capture these stories and share them out in a format that is engaging, and that will hopefully provide some insights that can inspire others to be the change that they wish to see in the world. So that they can hear directly from these community change agents, unsung heroes, and those who are empowering others be the change. They can hear their stories and see behind the curtain, as it were, and maybe be inspired or learn something that can help them in their journey to be the change they wish to see in the world. Here at EPIC Mission, we exist to build and restore thriving, resilient, hope-filled communities across Appalachia and beyond. We do this by engaging, encouraging, and empowering entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small businesses to be the change they wish to see in the world. Because, we envision a future where these Heroes of Change are fully equipped to move more confidently in the direction of their dreams. During this COVID-19 global pandemic, we are doing what we can to meet these Heroes of change where they are and provide a little bit of help. Here’s what that help looks like right now. We are offering a free, one hour strategy session with me to tackle a problem or a need that you currently have, and I’ll pace you through our 10-Step Strategy Development Process that is simple but effective and allow you to get a strategy in place and begin moving forward towards a brighter future. In addition, we are offering a Pay-What-You-Can model because we know that so many organizations like yours have been impacted financially, and we don’t want money to get in the way of you getting the help that you need if at all possible. What this looks like is, we’ll work with you to name your priority needs or problems and then develop a solution that works within a budget that you can afford.
